Some of the flood victims are returning to their houses despite a warning by Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Saidi Meck Sadik that the government will not be responsible for any problems they may encounter. The RC also announced that the number of deaths had climbed from 38 to 40, as of yesterday.
Speaking in the city yesterday when receiving aid for the victims, Sadik said it is a pity that some people were returning to their former houses despite being warned of the possibility of there being more floods. “Whoever returns to their houses by force should know that the government will not be responsible for whatever happens to them,” said Sadik.
Mr. Sadik received relief supplies of rice, beans, flour, sugar, cooking oil and water as well as washing soap worth 3ml/- from the Lions Club.

The donation items were handed over to the Regional Commissioner's office and were received by the Regional commissioner Mr.Said Sadiq in the presence of 40 Lion Members from the fratenity. Lion Safder Jaffer PMCC/ PDG handed over the items on behalf of the Dar fraternity.
At this juncture i wish to recognize the efforts of Lion Mustafa Qudrati the Club Secretry Mzizima for assisting in purchasing donation items and arranging transportation and Lion Zahira Patwa ZC for collecting the pledge money and arranging the event with the Regional Commissioner's office. The collection of donations is open and can be handedover to your club treasurer or ZC Lion Zahira Patwa
