Eye Camp Report held on the 8th of January at the Nkonanciyo Village in Arumeru District.
District Governor Lion Satish Sharma, 6 Club members and a guest Sameer Doshi participated.
5 Doctors from Mt. Meru Hospital
The camp attracted a total of 397 people, who were treated for various eye diseases and given medication. 125 pairs of eye glasses were dispensed and a total of 48 Cataract and 5 eye lid rotation patients were given dates for surgery to be carried out at Mount Meru Hospital and Saint Elizabeth Hospital.
The Camp also saw Twining with the Lions Club of Dandenong (Luncheon) in Australia, who together with some contribution from other Lions a total number of 165 Food bags and clothing worth 975,000 shillings were distributed to the families who were taking care of orphans and aged people. Each bag contained Rice, Sembe flour, Soap bar, Bread, Salt, Toothpaste, Tooth brush and Sweets.
A Blood Sugar testing machine worth TShs 350,000/= was donated to the Village Health Centre.
The eye camp was witnessed by the District Governor Lion Satish Sharma and District Cabinet Secretary Lion Manish Chavda and Asst. Cabinte Sec Lion Monu Singh.
