MY DEAR LION LEADERS,
Greetings and wishing you a very happy, prosperous and blessed new year 2012.
My dear fellow Lions, I firmly believe that any high achievements always takes place in the framework of high expectation. You will definitely hit what you aim for in the long run. So why not aim high now!
Three months back (October 2011) the statistics status of our District 411B rekindled the faith and great hope of improvement of our membership growth and we were all proud to note the membership graph raising slowly above horizon and reached 1,160 members with 42 clubs.
With great dismay, despite our incessant efforts and non-stop follow up on membership growth, extension and retention of the members, we are disappointed to learn from the LCIF Club Health Assessment of December 2011 which indicates drastic fall of 35 members and cancellation of 2 clubs. What is happening to our clubs? We have some draw back; while we recruit more new members, the old members keep slipping out from the back door, so, while we take five steps forward, we also retreat four steps backward by dropping members. This is indeed an alarming indication which definitely needs to be immediately addressed and arrest the dwindling membership in our District.
In light of the above unpleasant situation, the GMT District and Club leaders, Region and Zone chairpersons, clubs Presidents and club Membership Directors are alerted to seriously dwell on this serious issue and improve the Health of clubs under their jurisdiction.
Glancing at the club Health Assessment, again it is very sad to note that over 50% of the clubs in our District have not remitted their International and District dues to-date and they have crossed the limit of over 90 days, which will further jeopardize the status of these clubs leading to cancellation. This big fall and negative progress will deny us the courtesy to stand upright in any lions gathering.
My fellow lions, we can not be beaten at anything, until we quit in our own minds, there is no failure except in our not trying. There is no defeat except from within. I am asking you to sustain your personal vision of success until you achieve it. There is nothing on earth that you can not achieve, once you mentally accept the fact that you can have/do it.
