MEGA EYE, DIABETES, TREE PLANTING AND RELIEVING HUNGER CAMP IN LINDI BY MZIZIMA LIONS

From 19th to 22nd February 8 Lions led by Convenor Lion Shanti Shah braved the weather to reach Sokoine Regional Hospital, Lindi - 450kms South of DSM - so that they could carry out a mega eye camp inclusive of Diabetes screening, tree planting and providing food to the residents. During the camp they had 5 supporters to assist.

Eye Camp
The Lions were accompanied by Dr Yongolo and his team. They identified 484 refractive errors and dispensed glasses and medicines to the patients. 51 cataract operation and 12 minor surgeries were carried out.

Diabetes camp
The camp screened 292 patients where several cases who were treated accordingly.

Tree planting
The Lions planted 50 trees (shade trees as well as lemon, mango and orange) in the vicinity of the hospital, to make our planet a greener place to inhabit.

Food supplies

Mzizima Lions further gave food items to the poor patients admitted at the hospital.
