My Dear Fellow Lions and LEOS,
Warm Greetings to You and your Families from the District Secretariat Arusha, we are almost at the completion of the second quarter of our Lionistic year 2011-2012, and in this past six months many clubs have established with great efforts and significant cost, many projects to serve the needs of their community at a particular time, several of these projects have substantial assets, real estate, infrastructure whose value has greatly appreciated over a period of time.
I am overwhelmed by the kind of prompt responses and cooperation I have received by many clubs in our Dynamic district, however many clubs are still lagging behind in sending information on their club membership and activity report to the International; and at the same time are being marked as defaulters in payment of Dues.
I believe if one decides to accomplish something great and really want to see it happen one need to possess a Make a Difference attitude, and most of the time here usually the response is what I alone can do? Any time we don’t believe we can make a difference, WE WONT.
Today clubs are failing in doing the basic tasks that they are suppose to do (REPORTING THEIR CLUBS TO RELEVANT OFFICES IN THE DISTRICT AND INTERNATIONAL, PAYING DUES ON TIME) the basic reason for this to happen is that we are taking our clubs lightly, and sometimes it is the lack of knowledge that we have on the subject, what is expected of me in that position I hold.
The potential of any club depends on the potential of its each member, each and every one on this earth has the potential to make a difference, but we can only do it if We Believe in ourselves and are willing ourselves away to others, we Lions like any other organization have to keep our selves constantly updated with the vast information that our International is giving us, visiting the Lions website and most important communicating with each other at club/District and International level.
I believe that if we want to connect with people and take them with us to a higher level, we have to recognize the difference we can make as a team, and acknowledge it at every opportunity, Lions this One Life, a little gleam of time between two eternities; no second chance for us forever, Any day that passes without personal growth is an opportunity lost to improve oneself and to enlarge others.
It’s that time of the year where we can share our joys and happiness with others; Mother Teresa once expressed “I can do what you can’t, and you can do what I can’t do, together we can do great things”, and yes Lions it is the Unity that can change the present forever in our societies and neighborhoods.
On Behalf of our District Governor Lion Satish Sharma the entire cabinet, my Wife Kala and on my personal behalf I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Smashing Super Duper Happy New Year, please have a look on the forth coming events that will be taking place in our district for the coming months, and please keep that communication ball rolling for the improvement of our district.
Yours Friendly in Lionism
Lion Manish Chavda,
Cabinet Secretary,
D-411-B.
